MSP4BIO Final Event – Venice, 2th- 4th of July 2025
Join us for the MSP4BIO Final Event, an essential gathering for MSP4BIO Communities of Practice and stakeholders, marine planners, marine protected areas managers, policy and decision makers and experts in marine conservation and sustainability. This event is set against the backdrop of Venice’s historic charm and will run concurrently with the MEDIGREEN´s internal workshop event, offering a comprehensive platform for discussion and networking.

The Black Sea Basin Workshop: BRIDGING MARITIME SPATIAL PLANNING WITH THE EUROPEAN GREEN DEAL AND BETTER INTEGRATE MARINE PROTECTED AREAS is jointly organized by the three European Union projects MSP-GREEN, MPA Europe and MSP4BIO, and hosted by CCMS:
The MSP-GREEN EU funded project (European Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund) (2022-2024) contributes to align Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) to the ambition of the European Green Deal (EGD) by creating a framework for plans to become marine enablers of the EGD. The framework provides a cross-cutting approach by considering six key topics relevant for marine environment and sustainable transition of blue economy: climate change mitigation, climate change adaptation, sustainable seafood production, marine biodiversity protection, blue circular economy, zero pollution. Recommendations on how to strengthen the EGD ambition of EU MSP plans are one of the main outcomes of the project, drafted by project partners and additional experts (https://mspgreen.eu/).
MSP4BIO 3rd Science Policy Dialogues Think Tank: Advancing Biodiversity Integration in Maritime Spatial Planning
On October 24th, 2024, in Marseille, the MSP4BIO project will host its 3rd Science Policy Dialogues Think Tank event. This event will take place following the MSP-GREEN & REGINA MSP Joint Closing Conference and will be held at the same venue. The Think Tank will run from 15:00 to 17:00.
The prior objective of the MSP4BIO Project is to advance the integration of biodiversity into Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP). In line with this goal, MSP4BIO has established a series of Science Policy Dialogue Think Tanks, aimed at bringing together experts, scientists, and policymakers at both the EU and regional seas levels. These collaborative sessions focus on co-developing innovative solutions for incorporating biodiversity into MSP, fostering policy alignment, and ensuring that science-based approaches are effectively communicated to policy actors.
Two satellite events at the UN Ocean Decade will be organized with the MSP4BIO help!
On April 8th, MSP4BIO will join the Marine Protected Areas Forum to co-host with BLUE4ALL Project the “Become an MPA manager for a day! – A roleplaying game” session, which will take the audience into the shoes of an MPA manager and explore the environmental, social, economic, multi-use, and policy challenges they commonly face.
